This diagram at the left shows the Golden Rectangle. It is divided in a square and then into a smaller rectangle. The two rectangles are similar. This evidently known as the Golden Rectangle. The proportions give us the formula of:
a/b = (a+b)/a
This fraction is also called the GOLDEN RATIO
This rectangle was known as the most pleasing rectangle as it was also incorporated into many greek architects.
