Who Was Fibonacci?

Fibonacci was known as the "greatest European mathematician of the Middle Ages" . Born in Pisa, Italy with his full name being Leonardo Pisano. Through out his life, Leonardo (Fibonacci) traveled the Mediterranean coast; while traveling Leonardo encountered endless amount of merchants and he learned their system of doing arithmetic. Since Leonardo traveled the Mediterranean coast he encountered many Arab regions, where he was first introduced to the Hindu-Arabic numeral system. Leonardo recognized that the Hind-Arabic numeral system was much simpler and more efficient than Roman Numerals. Because of this Leonardo traveled more of the Mediterranean Coast, to study Arabic Mathematics at that time. At a age 32 in the year of 1202 Leonardo recorded what he learned in the Liber Abaci (Book of Calculations), which he later publicized as he popularized Hindi-Arabic numeral in Europe. Undoubtedly thorough the Liber Abaci Leonardo also introduced the Fibonacci Sequence (Fibonacci Numbers) to the west, one of the discoveries he was most notable for.
